THE LEVIN MARKET.
There was a medium yarding of stock at the Levin on Tuesday. Sheep came forward in small numbers and sold readily at slightly advanced prices for anything showing quality. There wa.s a good yarding of pigs, prices being slightly below late rates. Cattle were unchanged. Quotations were as follow:
Pigs.—Small weaners 6s to 10s, better sorts 12s to 14s, stores 28s to 30s, porkers 35s to £2 6s, light baconers £2 17s.
Sheep—Cull lambs 7s 3d, good average 15s 5d to 17s 7d, cull ewes 5s 3d, good 2-tooth ewes 295, mixed woolly sheep 245.
Cattle. —Light tat cows £3 to £3 7s 6d, others £4 to £4 10s, waters £2 6s, forward conditioned cows £2 10s, heifers r.w.b. £3 5s to £3 10s, in-calf heifers to £5 Is, well-grown weaner Jersey cross heifers £2 14s, small weaner heifers 325, store cows £1 to 325, 2-ye.ir-old steers £3 4s, 1-year steers £2, potter bulls 25s to £2 7s 6d.
