MUNICIPAL ELECTION

A great deal of interest Is being aroused in Shannon in regard to the forthcoming municipal election and it is expected there will be at least fourteen candidates for the Council. Up to the present Messrs Murdoch and Furglier are the only candidates for the Mayoralty. .Mr Fargher will address tine electors on Thursday - evening next at. the Maoriland Theatre, while Mr Murdoch will open his campaign on Saturday evening on Plimmer Terrace. On Tuesday evening next the mayoral candidates and the: aspirants for municipal honours will address the electors at the Maoriland Theatre. From information we have received we understand that sevierhl new ideas will be bought forward by the different speakers.
