WATER SUPPLY SCHEME.
FIRST TENDER TO BE CALLED. The Borough Council at Tuesday’s meeting advanced another stage in connection with the water supply ' scheme when they decided to call tenders immediately for the supply of pipes and fittings for the work. Ihe Engineer submitted the specifications of the pipes and -fittings for the scheme, and after he had given a detailed explanation in regard to the pipes required it was decided .to’ call tenders at once, tenders to close on ■ April 16 with the Town Clerk. . The Mayor reported that he had received a plan from the Clerk of the llorowhenua County Council giving a list of the owners through whose pro-
perly the pipes would be laid, but on going through it, lie had found more particulars were required. It
was decided that the Mayor be authorised to go to_Levin and get full particulars, and make necessary arrangements with the owners for getling their signatures. Tiie Engineer, who was present, pointed out that he was not tied to any particular site for the reservoir, as owingjto the configuration of the land, there were several to choose from. •'
