. ... . THIS, WEEK’S QUOTATIONS. There was a full yarding at the Levin stock sale on Tuesday, sheep particularly coming forward in increased numbers. The quality of both cattle and sheep was below, standard, and prices are a fair indication of quality, although a slight drop in sheep was noticeable.. There were several pens of rams yarded, and a pen of 2, 4 and.64ooth Romney rams from the Porirua Mental" Hospital met with a ready sale. Pigs were unchanged. Prices were as follows:
Pigs.—'Weaners 10/ to 16/, porkers 32/ to £2 9/, baconers £3 17/6, sow to farrow £4.
Sheep.—Light fat wethers 26/6 to 27/3, forward 2-tooth wethers 24/, cull S-tooth wethers 17/6, small 2-tooth ewes 25/, sound-mouth ewes 19/6, cull ewes 9/6, good woolly lambs 16/, others 14/3, shorn lambs 14/3 to 15/4, cull lambs 9/3 to 12/, Romney rams ligns to 4£gns, aged Southdown rams 4sgns to 6gns, purebred Southdown ewes 6Jgns.
Cattle.—Fat cows £2 17/6 to £4 15/, forward cows £2 10/, vealers £2, 3J to 4-year-old steers, mixed colours £4 to £5, 3-year-old steers £3 16/ to £4 16/, 2-year-old steers to £2 8/, dairy cows £4 to £6, springing, heifers £5 10/, ’ in-calf heifers £4 5/, heifers r.w.b. £3 16/ to £4 15/, weaner heifers 32/ to £3 17/6, store cows £1 to 27/6.
