INQUEST.
into the death of Edward William Findlay, who collapsed on Monday last whilst engaged on the electric transmission line., was held by the District Coroner. (Mr W. C. Nation) yesterday afternoon." Evidence was given by A. P. .Pulley, foreman of the construction gang, that deceased applied to him for work about 11 a.m. on Monday, and was given a job digging holes for the erection of the poles. About 5 p.m. he heard that deceased was unwell and met him at 5.30 as he was walking home. He suggested that Findlay .should Teturn to 1 camp and he would drive him in. At the camp he left him for about fifteen minutes and on his return found liim unconscious. A car was obtained, but he died within a-quarter of a mile of leaving camp. E. 'Delaney, who was engaged on the derrick used for the erection of the holes,, deposed to' finding deceased about ~4.45 p.m. lying on the ground beside the hole he had been digging. He complained of pains in the stomach. Witness advised him to go home. Deceased’s mother said her son had been out of work for some time, and was unwell. A verdict of “Death from natural causes’’ was returned by the Coroner, Mr W. C. Nation.
