A FATAL CORN CURB.
BATHED FEET IN BENZINE. t Before retiring one evening recently, Mrs Rebecca Allan, house-keeper of the ; single men’s quarters at Cullinlaringo 1 station, New South Wales, bathed her feet in benzine as a cure for corns arid tired , feet. She walked into her bed-: room, struck a match to light the candle, when her clothing ignited.
The woman’s screams attracted the attention of an employee, who unsuccessfully attempted to extinguish the flames with his hands. While he went for a rug the burning woman ran round the house screaming for help, and another employee went to her assistance and threw a blanket round her. The flames were extinguished, but not before the woman was burned practically all over the body, only her head, face, and feet being untouched. She died the following afternoon.
