SHANNON V. PUBLIC WORKS
The two local teams met ait Shannon oir Saturday, the Shannon team winning by the narrow margin of 15 ruris on the first innings. Good cricket \vas impossible owing to the long grass andj the heavy wicket. Shannon batted first and realised 46 runs, Harris being the only batsman to reach double figures with a score'of 16 runs, he' being caught by Newth. Public Wlorks, on/ going to bat, looked to have a chance of winning, but their effort failed, they only being able to register 31 runs, hone of the batsmen reaching double figures. Scores:—
