MANGAHAO HYDRO NOTES.
'(From Our Own Correspondent.) A meeting of the committee of tire Mangahao Men’s Medical Association \vas held at Arapeti at the end of the month. Delegates from each of the camps were present, and Mr M. Troy presided. The secretary (Mr Grainger) gave a detailed report in connection with the agreement and appointment of Dr. Macdonald as medical officer, which was confirmed by the committee. The chairman expressed the thanks and appreciation of the Association to Mr Gagiiardi for his untiring .efforts in bringing about, a satisfactory airangement. with the Hospital Board regarding the medical officer. Accounts for the period that there was no doctor and chemisl were dealt with, and everyone satisfactorily settled. It was agreed that the committee meet quarterly . Quite a lot of colds are prevalent in the camp, as well as other ailments. Dr. McDonald had a long list. of patients last week. The continuous wet and unseasonable weather seems to be telling the tale with the majority in camp. A commertcementTias been made to erect a 1 new cottage to- accommodate an additional overseer at Arapeti.
A party, of geologists from Wellington made ; a tpur of inspection during Sunday under the leadersnip of District Engineer Dinnie. Both tunnels' are at present in very wet country,' and piercing operations are both difficult and inconvenient. Both contracting parties are making excellent 1 progress under .'difficulties, and ! it certainiy cannot be . said that the lunnollers are behind time with tlieif part of the work. .
