HOROWHENUA POWER BOARD.

NEGOTIATE FOR SITE IN SHANNON. Messrs. Gunning and Seifert, representatives on the Horowhenua Power Board, who were appointed by the board to secure a suitable site in Shannon for the erection of a power station for distributing power to the towns and district under the Board’s control, have been successful in obtaining an option over a site in East Street, near the dairy factory, owned by Mr J. O'Connor, of Greytown. The Board’s Engineer, Mr Overton, who has inspected the site, is satisfied it is a satisfactory one, and there is every likelihood the purchase will be completed.
