! SATURDAY’S STAR. ! i The flapper in all her myriad varia- ' tions. has been portrayed by Gladys Walton in Universal features. Now she is leading the flapper role to impersonate a different sort of girl in “Second-hand Rose,” the Universal 1 feature, due on Saturday. It is a delightful story, with pathos and comedy 1 in abundance. “THE SINGLE TRACK.” , Corinne Griffith in “The Single Track” lias a production different from any in which she has heretofore appeared, and which is chock full of ! dramatic action an dangerous stunts. The story was written by the well known author, Isabelle Ostrander, under the nom de plume of Douglas Grant. It is published in book form under the name of “The Single Track,” and as a novel become immensely popular. For this production Vitagraph constructed a railroad at Fieisclim anil, N.Y., on a spur of the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western, at an enormous cost. The track was laid over a trestle built especially lor the purpose. The studio sets are exceptionally elaborate, one of which represents King Herod’s . court, in Which Miss Griffith appears as Salome. In this scene she wears a beautiful gown of pearls and ostrich plumes. The costumes worn at the court of Herod are exceptionally elaborate and costly, and each is historically correct. 'Then follow luxurious scenes in the heroine's home, which were built especially for this production at no small cost. It will be shown at the local theatre on Monday night.
