Tire'monthly meeting of the Druids’ Lodge will be held in the Parish Hall on Thursday evening. Several lucid residents are at present. spending holidays at the seaside Foxton and Paraparaumu beaches are the popular resorts. A serious accident was narrowly averted at the corner of Plimmer Terrace and Vance Street on Sunday morning, when a motor-cycle coming from the northern end of Plimmer Terrace, mien by Mr G. Wilkinson, met a car which was proceeding down Vance Street. Both drivers pulled off the road to avoid a collision, bui they w r ere so close to one another that Mr Wiliknson struck the footboard of the car and received a cut on the leg besides damaging bis clothes. Had either vehicle been travelling fast a serious accident could not hare been avoided.
Applicants for the sections to be hallo ted for by Hie Borough Council ar.e reminded that the ballot takes place this evening at 7.30.
