KOPUTAROA SWAMP AREA.
FORMATION OF DRAINAGE BOARD
At several meetings of the Horowlienua County Council, Cr. Broadbelt has expressed the opinion that a drainage board should be found to control drainage matters in the swamp area at Koputaroa. He raised the question again at Saturday’s meeting and moved the following resolution: “That a meeting of ratepayers in the swamp area draining into the Tangata drain be called at. Koputaroa for the purpose of endeavouring to form a drainage area for the land affected, the chairman and councillors and the Wirokiho riding to be the Council’s representatives.” Speaking to the motion, Cr. Broadbelt said a board seemed the only alternative for the satisfactory control of drainage matters. The motion was seconded by Cr. Harkness, and carried.'
