DOCTOR FOR MANGAHAO.

APPOINTMENT CONFIRMED YESTERDAY. At the meeting of the Palmerston North Hospital Board yesterday, the appointment of Dr. W. J. McDonald, of Levin, as medical officer of Mangahao, was confirmed. 'The appointment carries remuneration at the rate of £560 per annum. By the arrangement entered into, the Shannon Medical Association will pay the Board £62 107 each month and will also make its own arrangements with the chemists. The association will collect the £250subsidy from the Public Works Department. The Board is also to pay the doctor the difference between £250 and the actual patients' fees taken over a whole year, if the fees come to under £250.
