CORRESPONDENCE.

SOLDIERS’ MEMORIAL.

(To the Editor.)

Sir,—l understand some time ago funds were collected for a Soldiers’ Memorial in Shannon, and tihat it was decided what form the memorial should take, and also where it would be erected. Now, can you tell me what has happened, that nothing further has been done in the matter? Why has the business been held up, subscribers to that fund want to know? I believe the Council had the matter in hand. If so, why don’t they let the public know their reason for not going on with the work? . Is it like a lot of other matters they deal with—“shelved”?—l am, etc., SUBSCRIBER.
