THE GENERAL ELECTION.
MR FLYGER OPENS FIRE. Mr H. T. Flyger opened his campaign at Awahuri last night when he addressed an audience of over one hundred, including a fair proportion of ladies. Mr Duncan Bennett was in the chair. Mr Flyger dealt exhaustively with all the items of his platform, and his speech was received with enthusiasm and applause, and after answering several questions to the entire satisfaction of those interested, he was accorded a unanimous vote of thanks.
MR LINKLATER NOMINATED. The Returning Officer received Mr J. Linklater’s nomination as a candidate for the Manawatu electorate yesterday. The nomination is signed by the following electors: Edmund John Stewart. Spencer, builder. Shannon; Mabel McKenzie, married, Levin; James McLeavey, farmer, Weraroa; Bernard Gapper Gower, farmer, Foxton; George Charles Coley, farmer, Foxton; Stephen John Hartley, blacksmith, Himitangi; William R. Bromley, farmer, Bulls; Francis Sarah Louise Wicks, married, Bulls.
