TOKOMARU NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent.)
The Tokomaru Football Club dance will be held this evening. Another novelty dance 1 will be introduced.
The residents of Tokomaru will be surprised to hear that Mr McLune, secretary ,of the School Committee, has sent in his resignation. The mahy friends of Mr W. N. Webb will be pleased to hear that his son Arthur is on way to recovery after his long illness.
The School Committee held their last dance of the season last Friday night. The St. Aiden’s Church Committee are now going to carry on the dances in their place. ,Mr W. Kirk, the local railway porter, is now away on his annual holiday.
It will be gratifying to the ranger to hear ihat several of the residents have found grazing for their stock. Owing to the splendid growth of feed in the district, the local dairy factory is now' receiving more milk than they did in the flush of last season. ' ~
For some considerable time residents have been much annoyed by persons removing gates in the township, thereby causing much damage to gardens, etc., the culprits being so persistent in their efforts that it was found necessary to put tbe police on their tracks, with the result Ihat three young men are to be prosecuted shortly for the offence.
