METHODIST CHURCH.
The anniversary concert and social of the Foxton Methodist Church was held on Thursday night in Foxton. Various reports were read, amongst them the following relating to the Shannon Church:— Shannon Trust, reports a thorough renovation of the church property there. Circuit also reveals progress. Services in Foxton have been well maintained compared with previous years. Shannon and Oroua. Downs report steady progress. A night service has been commenced once a month at Oroua Downs .with an attendance ol' upwards of 50. A service every other Sunday night at Shannon has also been started with a well-filled church. Sunday schools throughout the circuit show marked Increases on roll and in attendance. The Shannon members evolved a .scheme for a car for the minister’s use, and also for maintaining extra services in the district. The scheme has been accepted and financed by some of our members. The car is ordered and we expect delivery this week. Whilst we thank all for assistance in circuit work, .ve would especially mention one or two eases. Our best thanks are due to Mr F. Rout, ot Shannon mail .service, lor his aid in conveying the minister and his wile to and from Shannon on many occasions on church work, and this free of cost io the church. A new motor shed has been erected at the parsonage at a
.aluation of £6O. This has cost only a very lew pounds for material required. We thank Mr Banks and his assistant, Mr Minifie, for making this work possible. Finally, we appeal to our people in regard to the future. Our Church will progress just to the extent to which we, as individual members, do our part.”
