Wireless telegraphy arrived in real earnest when the Daily Mail “broadcastled” the full details of the Carpen-tier-Lewis fight, which were eagerly listened to hosts of wireless amateurs over a wide area. The news was heard, in a few seconds, as far away as Aberdeen, which is 800 miles distant /from London. The amazing speed of the thing has left many people breathless with amazement. A dramatic touch, that appealed iso many was that they were aware that Lewis had been defeated before the vanquished man had sufficiently recovered from the knock-out blow to be conscious of the fact himself.
