FAILING TO ATTEND SCHOOL.

John Hamilton, who? did not appear, and William Corner, who pleaded guilty, werei fined 10/ and 2/ respectively, witlj 7/ costs, for failing to send their children to school. Mr J. Laughton prosecuted on behalf of the Education Department. UNREGISTERED FIREARM. Guy Marriott, Ohau, was charged on the information of the police with be mg in- possession of a firearm for a longer period than seven days without being registered as the owner of such firearm. Defendant pleaded guilty, and was convicted and fined 10/ and 7/ costs.

STRAY STOCK,

Charged by the police with allowing a horse to trespass in the Levin railway yard, George Banks pleaded guilty and was convicted and fined £l, with 7/ costs. Georgb Watson, county ranger, proceeded against Several Tokomaru defendants on stray cattle charges, convictions and fines being inflicted as undef: W. H. Webb (two charges), fined £1 on each and costs 9/6; H. E. Williams, R. W. Guy (four charges), and E. Stokes (two charges), fined £2 on each charge and costs. M., O’Connell, ranger to the Shannon Borough Council, took action against the following offenders, on similar charges, who were dealt with as'follows: W. N. Brown, Arthur Richards, Gordon Mitchell, Charles Easton, Patrick Gill and George Jude, fined 10/ and costs 7/; Mrs Selina Hamilton, George Jude (second and third charges), John Grumwald (two charges), Richard Crow, Robert Buckman, J. McDonald, John Breshnehan, L. Satherley (two charges), fined £1 and costs on each charge; L. H. Newport ahd William Carlyle (three charges) £2 on each charge and costs 7/. SEPARATION AND MAINTENANCE. Eleanor Rowley (Mr Adams) made application for a separation and maintenance order against her husband, Samuel George Rowley. "After hearing evidence by the appellant, his Worship made the order accordingly, with £2 per week separation allowance.

Mary E. Secord, Shannon (Mr Adam,s) made application for separation and maintenance jfrom Charles Secord, her husband. An order was made accordingly, maintenance at the rate of £1 10/ per week. CIVIL CASES. His Worship gave judgment for plaintiffs in the following undefended cases: Harper and Merton v. P. M. Cameron, claim £l 9/6, costs 10/; Joplin, Stallard and Carmichael v. G. Carinont, claim £4O 4/, judgment for £3;: 4/, costs £4 1/6; W. Crystall v. B. F: Dalton, claim £2O, costs £2 14/; W. F. Pringle v. B. F. Dalton, claim £25, costs £3 1/; J. B. Coley v. Abraham Royal, claim £1 15/, costs 13/; Harvey and Co. v. James Howard, claim £129 10/9, costs £7 15/. JUDGMENT SUMMONSES. George Taiwhao was ordered to pay J. Krivan the sum of £6 19/6 at the rate of £1 per month, in default seven days’ imprisonment. Buku Wilson was ordered to pay Cradock and Klue. £4 0/6, or take seven days in gaol.

In the case Barnett Glass Rubber Co. v. E. Porter (Shannon) debtor was ordered to pay £3l 19/ forthwith, in default 28 days’ imprisonment.
