SHANNON MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE
VERDICT OF NOT GUILTY. The Supreme Court, at Palmerston had before it this week the charge of manslaughter preferred against Hugh Wilson Mclntosh. The evidence for the Crown showed that accused was driving a 3-seater motor-car on June JO on the Shannon road tOAvards Makerua. At a point live or six chains from Grey Street the car collided with a f'jg driven by J. .b Woods. The shaft of the gig, striking William Davidson, who was a passenger in the car, caused injuries which resulted in. his death. \ great deal of evidence was taken. The. fury retired at 10.30 a.m. yesterday and returned at 12.45 with a verdict. ti hot guilty-.
