FOOTBALL.

The following programme of entertainment lias been arranged by the Shannon Club for the Wairarapa touring team on their visit to Shannon on Wednesday, August 23. The team will arrive at Shannon at 4 p.m. on Monday, August 21, and in the evening they Will be the guests'of the proprietors of the Maoriland Theatre. On Tuesday morning the Shannon taxi drivers will convey the team out to the Mangahao works, through the courtesy of Mr Dinnie, where dinner will be arranged for them at the canteen under the management, of Mr Finlayson. Tuesday evening, so far, nothing has been arranged for. Wednesday morning Mr .T. Franks has offered to run the team out to the big mill at Miranui. In the afternoon they will play Horowhenua, and in the evening they will be entertained at a smoke concert by football supporters of Shannon. They will leave for Wairarapa on Thursday morning.
