HbIIOWHENUA NOT TAKING PART.

The Horowhenua Rugby Union informed the ,Manawatu Union at Tuesday’s meeting that, owing to the Horowlienfia representatives having a prior engagement with the Wanganui representatives in Levin on Wednesday, August 16, no Horowhenua players could take part in the combined match Manawatu-Horowhenua y. Ail Blacks at Palmerston North on that day. It was stated at the meeting that Manawatu was making arrangements to secure Wellington players to fill the Horowhenua men’s places. The Horowhenua Union has also informed Manawatu that, as finances were not too sound, it hesitated to send players, to Wellington for the combined match against the Wellington representatives. However, no final it-y has been reached in this matter, and a definite intimation would be made in a few days.
