GOLF NOTES.

Next. Saturday the July medal match will be played on the local lniks, and the following is the result, of the drawings for partners:— Ladies.—Mrs Saxon and Miss Morgan, Mrs Evans and Mrs Murphy, Mrs Dinnie and Mrs Taylor, Mrs G. Goodwin and Miss McKegg, Miss E. Goodwin and Miss Gooch, Mrs Cole and Mrs Johnston, Mrs Roach. Gentlemen,—Saxon and Johnston, Taylor and Goodwin, Mitchell and Abbott, Morgan and Sheargold, King and Gagliardi, Murphy and Seil'ert, Dinnie and Evans, Anderson and Davis, Logan and Rathbone, Quarrie and Hook, Bovis and Burns. Play may commence any time after noon. Players are requested to make their own arrangements as drawn, and in the event of being unable to attend, to notify their partners or the secretary, when games will be arranged l'or those attending.

LEVIN V. SHANNON. On Saturday the Shannon Club visited Levin, and the weather being perfect, ami t enjoyable afternoon was spent in a match with tho Levin Club on the local links. Twelve games were played, Levin winning 7 and Shannon 9, including one by default. The ladies of the Levin ■Club provided afternoon tea, and at the conclusion of the play Mr Anderson returned thanks to the Levin Club for the enjoyable afternoon which the the visitors had spent. The' games resulted as follows, Levin players being mentioned first in each instance, —

Men.—W. G. Clark beat Sheargold, K. Biss defaulted to Logan, P. Harper lost to Murphy, Dr. McDonald lost to Morgan, C. H. Bould heat Saxon, W. S. Park lost to Seifert, D. S. Mackenzie beat Anderson, Porter beat Abbott, Pollock beat Dinnie, K. Adams beat Davis, Hosie lost to King, T. W. Brown lost to Goodwin.

Ladies. —Mrs Harper beat Mrs Saxon, Miss Marsh lost to Miss D. Goodwin, Miss Kebbell lost to Miss Morgan, Mrs McKenzie lost to Miss E. Goodwin.
