MEETING OF UNION. ?

The weekly meeting last Tuesday was presided over by the president, Mr E. J. Nash. 1 Mr S. Norgrove, Otaki, wrote asking that a ticket box be provided at the Otaki Domain, also that a load of gravel be spread at the gate.—Received. The Conditions of the Otaki Licensed Victuallers’ Cup, a trophy donated by the licensed victuallers of Otaki, were passed as follows: That the cup be competed for by any junior club; that all matches take place at Otaki; that} the cup be retained' by the winning team, but to be returned in the case of an outside club winning; any winning outside club failing to accept a challenge to forfeit its right to the cup; that all competitions for the cup start during the first week in March, that no'matches for the cup take place, during the Horowheniia Union’s junior championship llxtures, and that there be no competition for the cup after the first week in September; that the winning team at the end of the season hold the cup till tliej, beginning of the following season, the holders to have the right to the first challenge; that winners

of the cup affix a small shield to the

stand, with name of club and the year in which it was won; that all gate, money derived from any matches played for the cup be given as follows: 50 per cent to the Otaki Borough Council for ground improvement, 30 per cent to be divided between the playing teams on day of competition, and -M per cent to the Ilorowhenua Rugby Union; that any matters in dispute between clubs be referred to the Ilorowhenua Rugby Union lor settlement.

It was decided, on Mr \V. Thomson's motion, that the conditions be referred back for revision, as they were unworkable in their present form.

L. Griffiths playing in the third-grade match for Boys' Training Farm, which match was won by the Farm. Griffiths wtas not one of if he team selected, and played as a substitute.

The transfer of F. Weldon from the Ilorowhenua to the Wellington Union was granted.

Mr M. Winiata was appointed manager of the senior rep. team to Palmerston North on Saturday, and Mr Parker (Otaki) the ! junior manJfgbr. The Wellington Union wroie suggesting September U 3 for iilie combined Horowhenua-Manawatu match with Wellington, at Wellington.

It was decided that the members cf the Horowhenua Management Committee visiting Palmerston North on Saturday be empowered to make arrangements for the combined match.

The Manawatu Union forwarded a list of referees lor the senior and junior rep. matches with Manawatu on Saturday. Mr A. W. Thomson was selected for the senior natch, and Mr Hope for the junior. It was decided that & special general meeting of club delegates be called to consider the amalgamation scheme with Manawatu, and that the Management Committee favourably recommend the adoption of the scheme.
