UNLIGHTED VEHICLES AND CYCLISTS.
(To the Editor.)
i Sir,—l noticed in your last issue a local stating that the police were about to become active with regard to vehicles i being driven at night without lights. By the action, or inaction, of the police regarding this matter in the past;, one would think there were no by-laws in Shannon, and it is certainly time some steps were taken, to stop it. Shannon has no town lights, and few bicycles have their lamps at night, and this, together with wandering stock, make's, it a danger to be. out after dark, on foot or otherwise. It is not the safety of those who drive;without lights that one grieves about, for they are evidently prepared to take the risk, but the safety of the public generally. It is to be hoped that the police will become active, in the interests of the public generally—l am, etc., “LET THERE BE LIGHT.”
