HANDICAPS AND LOCAL RULES

The following are the revised handicaps for 18 holes, of members oi the Shannon Gold Club:—

Ladies—Mrs Johnston and Mrs Saxon 20, Mrs Morgan, Misses GGoodwin and Miss Morgan 25, Miss E. Goodwin 30, Mrs Dinnie 35, Mesdames Evans, Anderson, Taylor, Bovis, Murphy, Barber , and Misses Cole, Butler, Roach, McKegg, Cameron, Gooch 40. Men. —Sheargold 10, C. Logan 12, Messrs Murphy, Morgan, and Saxon 15, Evans and Seifert 18, Anderson and Johnston 20, Davis, Abbott, Dinnie 22, Goodwin and King 25, Roskruge, K! and G. Mitchell, Hook, Barber, Quarrie, Burns, Bovis, Taylor, Spencer, Gagliardi, Rathbone 30.

REVISED, LOCAL RULES. 1. Out of Bounds: AH boundary fences; off tee; another; ball to be played and counted as second stroke; through green, ball to be dropped inside, not nearer the hole—penalty one stroke. 2. Hazards: All ditches are hazards except where otherwise stated. 3. Lifting Ball with Penalty: (a) A half may, be lifted, and, if possible, in a line with the hole, penalty one stroke, (b) If a ball be lost in a hazard another ball may be dropped as in clause (a), (c) A ball lying within one club length oi any fence or stile may be lifted and dropped not nearer the hole; penalty, one stroke. 4. Lifting Ball . without. Penalty: A ball not in a hazard may be lifted and dropped directly behind and within two club 'lengths of the original position if: (&) On or touching dung; (b) lying In lioof marks; (c) lying on any track or rabbit scrape; (d) if in cross drain going to first and Third hoies; (e) if in either of the two short drains going to the last .hole. 5. Second and Third Paddocks: A ball,,if not lying in a hazard, may be lined from anywhere if it lies in ihese paddocks and dropped not nearer the hole, without, penalty. 6. Scrub and Rushes: A ball lying in scrub: or rushes, or within one club length of .same, may be lifted and dropped not nearer the hole without, penalty.

7. Lodged in Soft Earth: If a ball is .found to have lodged in soft ground on landing, it may be lifted and dropped without penalty.
