LEVIN STOCK MARKET.
YOUNG DAIRY STOCK SELLING; WELL. Tuesday’s sale only brought out a medium entry of stock. Cattle on the whole were a moderate lot. The beef section was poorly represented, a ffew fat cows only making from £2 to £3. Stores were down to almost givingaway prices, and 'even in the dairy section the sale was not brisk, except for something abovei the average in quality, when prices reached £7 7/6 to £B. Young dairy heifers and heifers near profit were the best sellers, and the competition for these' was good, prices going as high as £6 to £8 for the best sorts, Jerseys and those with the Jersey strain making the keenest bidding. The sheep market was not as bright as usual owing to the absence of outside buyers, and the sales made for the best of the fats consequently showed a decline on the previous week’s values. The pig entry was not a large one, but the sales in this section were better than for the last few weeks, and the whole of the yarding was quitted. Pigs.—Stores 21/ to 25/; light porkers 25/ to 32/, good porkers £2 5/ to £2 7/6, sows to farrow £4 2/6 and £4 7/6.
Sheep.—Fat wethers and maiden ewes 23/1 to 23/3, light fat wethers '23/6, forward ewes 14/5 to 14/8.
