BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETS.

SOLDIERS’ MEMORIAL.

A special meeting of the Shannon Borough Council was held on Tuesday evening, when the resolution to borrow £4500 for the erection of workers’ dwellings was confirmed, and in view of the fact that the money will be available shortly, it was decided that tenders be called lor the work at an early date.

It was further decided to proceed with the work of erecting the Soldiers’ Memorial, and that a public meeting be held in the Borough Chambers on Tuesday evening at 7 o’clock to decide on a site. It is hoped that the citizens will be present and settle the question.
