DISTRICT FACTORY PAYMENTS.
LEVIN AND SHANNON PAYS BONUSES. The dairy , factorielT on this coast are making their monthly payments this week for the May supply of butterfat. In every case the quantity handled has been larger than is usually received for this period .of the year, pointing to the excellence of the season for dairying purposes. The Levin Dairy Company is paying 1/3 per lb for the May supply, and is also paying a bonus of 2d per lb for the period from December 1 •to May 31. As the intake of milk this season has been a very heavy one, the sum represented by the bonus will be fairly substantial. The average payment of the company throughout the season has been 1/2-i per lb. At Manakau, the local company has decided to pay 1/4 for the May butterfat, the company having a contract for the sale of its output for the months of May) June and July at 1/5-5 per lb at the Manakau railway station. I
The Shannon Dairy Company’s payment for May is* 1/7 per lb, and the company will pay a bonus of 2d per lb for the December, January and February supplies.
