SHANNON CRICKET CLUB.

A SUCCESSUL YEAR. The annual meeting of the Cricket Club was held on Wednesday evening, Mr G. Quarrie occupying- the chair. There was a fair attendance present It was reported that Mr Stewart had the best bowling average for the season, his figures being five runs per wicket. Mr R. Merwood topped the batting average with 30 runs per innings to his credit.- The club finances were ih order, and showed a credit balance at the end of the season ei about £B. It was decided to write to Mr Leng-Ward and the Mayor thanking them for gifts of material to the club

discussion took place regarding the holding of dances during the winter, and it was decided to hold a series in the Druids’ Hal-r once a fortnight, and also to hold a special dance on July 14, when the Shield won by the club would be presented. Altogether the season had been a most successful one.
