WEDDING.

NEWTH—SPRING

The wedding took place at the Methodist Church, Foxton, on Wednesday, of Stella, second daughter of Mr and Mrs C. A. Spring, of Moutoa, to Stanley Meiville, eldest son of R|r and Mrs Mark Newth, of Palmerston North, late of Moutoa. The Rev. L. Minifie was the officiating minister. The church was crowded with guests and fnends of the bride They were liberally showered with confetti as they left the church. The bride, who was gner away by her lather, was attired in cream jers de soie with, embroidered panels, black hat with touches of pink, and carried a bouquet of pink and white chrysanthemums. She was attended by her sister, Ethel, as bridesmaid, who wore an apricot jers de soie and emerald green hat and carried a bouquet of bronze chrysanthemums with green tulle streamers. Little Nola Huse, of Waitara, cousin of the bride, was flower girl, and wore a pink net frock, and carried a basket of miehaelmas daisies and chrysanthemums. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a set of fox furs, to the bridesmaids -a gold brooch, and to- the little flower girl a doll’s basinette. Mr .Tack Newth,, brother ot the bridegroom, was best man. The bride’s mother wore grey with touches of red, and a red and black hat, and carried a posy of red and white chrysanthemums. The bridegroom’s mother wore a navy blue costume, and black hat with autumn leaves, and carried a posy of pink and white chrysanthemums. The bouquets and posies were made and presented oy Mrs Galland, of Newbury, late of Moutoa.

After the ceremony a reception was held in the Town’Hall supper rooms, where the usual toasts were honoured. A feature of the bride’s table was the handsome three-decker cake, which reflected great credit on the maker, Mr j Walls, also a lovely wedding bell, the gift of Mrs T. East and Miss Crowe. The happy couple left for their honeymoon, the bride wearing a costume of mole velour cloth and a navy hat with touches of pink, and a fox fur. The presents, which included several substantial cheques, were numerous and handsome. Mr and Mrs Newth intend to reside in Shannon.
