A MOTHER’S PROTEST.
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—l Would like, through the medium of youf 'paper, to make a protest against displayed outside our local picture theatre. While in no way wishing to cast a reflection on the prdgremme shown in the theatre, I do think that some of the placards posted outside overstep the bounds of advertising and seek, instead, to appeal to the lower feelings of those who read. What with lhe display of murder, battle and sudden death,. together with pictures of girls dressed in practically nothing in ihs shape of clothes, displaying plenty of form, the moral tone is very low Children passing on the way to and from school see these placards, and can one wonder that their minds are filled with the lower things of life? A child to grow up into a good clean man or woman should be brought up in all that is beautiful and good, not to see crime in all its foulness displayed as an advertisement to '’-nv people to a picture show. Thanking you for kindness in publishing this protest.—l am, etc..
