BODY FOUND.
UNKNOWN MAN IN MANAWATU RIVER. Advice was received in Shannon cn Saturday from the Foxton police that the body of a man, apparently between 40 and 50 years jof age, had •been recovered from tlye Manawatu River at a point near the. Heads. There were no letters or other means of Identification found in the clothing, and- inquiries made by the police had noti up till midday, established any clue as to the identity of deceased. The report states that decomposition had set in, and indications point to the body having been immersed for a fairly lengthy period, possibly three wedks. The body is that of a eiean-shaven man, moderately thick-set, and sft 6in in height, with dark hair worn fairly Tong and an inclination to baldness on the crown. Deceased was clad in a blue vicuna suit and heavy dark tweed overcoat, tan boots, woollen underclothing, a single linen collar with the tips turned down, and a dark tie.
Anyone knowing of a person who has been missing for some time and who may correspond with the despription given above is asked to communicate with the police.
