NORTH TOO GOOD FOR SOUTH
in a single innings match played on the Domain on Saturday, representatives of the northern end of the district obtained a clear-cut victory 4’rom the southerners, N and as Praia was absent when his side were batting, the winners’ score was compiled by ten men. As time still permitted South, who had batted first, went in again and play was continued till time was called. The match was played with the object of bringing players from all parts ol the district under the selectors’ eyes, with a view to having a representative team chosen to play Manawatu. Randall and Fletcher batted prominently, and the last-men-tioned player further distinguished himself when South had their second innings by taking four wickets for 15 runs.
