“MY LADY’S GARTER” ON WEDNESDAY. -
Maurice Tourneur has made a thrilling motion picture out of Jacques Futrelle’s well known mystery 10niance “My Lady’s'Garter,” which is to he shown in Shannon on Wednesday. The story centres round the pursuit of a baffling international thief, known as “The Hawk,” and involves the love affair of a young Englishman who was lor a time suspected of being the criminal and the da.ugnter of a railroad magnate. The plot is spirited in the extreme, and involves such thrilling scenes as the near-crash of two railroad trains, an exciting pursuit on the water in yachts, and the escape of “The Hawiv by a leap from a second storey window and his final end in a motor-bo n explosion. ROLLICKING COMEDY ON FRIDAY. “Life’s a Funny Proposition” all right, and it takes a man with a cheery and genial smile like big William Desmond to bring this iaci home. Surely no man could meet with the succession of ill-fortune that envelopes Desmond in a regular whirlwind of unexpected happenings amongst which is the sudden arrival of an unknown baby in Iris bachelorapartments, just as his fiancee and his uncle decide to- pay him a visit. There is humour in generous quantities in. this picture, and anyone who can enjoy a good laugh at another a expense will enjoy this feature, due' at the Maoriland on Friday. TOKOMARU THEATRE.
On Thursday, “Life’s a Funny Proposition” .will be screened at iokomaru. It has a strong programme of supports.
