ACCIDENT IN SWAMP.
Mr A. Grimstone had the misfortune to meet with a painful accident •oil Saturday last. He was bringing in trucks of flax from the swamp to the Miranui mill when his foot caugtit on one of the sleepers, causing nim to fall on the rails. The wheel of one truck passed over his foot and crushed it badly. He managed to stop the horses, otherwise the wheels would have passed over his body. Mr Grimstone was attended by the local doctor, and afterwards taken to the hospital, where lie is making satisfactory progress.
