A friendly match was held on the local courts last week-end between Shannon and Mangahao. The following are the results (Shannon players being mentioned first): — GENT’S SINGLES. W. Quarrie beat G. P. Anderson, 14—13. G. Murphy lost to R. Merwood, 4 9. A. McKegg lost to R. K- Kelly, 5—9. 11. Hook lost to L .Ward, 7—9. _ G. Parkhouse beat W. Miller, 9—3. E. Aim beat W. King, 9—l. DOUBLES. Quarrie and Murphy lost to Anderson and Merwood, 6—l, 2—6, 6—B. McTSEgg and Hook lost to Kelly and Ward, 2—6, 5-6. Parkhouse and Aim beat Miller and King, 6 —2, 5 —6, 6 —4. Resulting in a win for Mangahao by 5 sets to 4. The following will represent Shannon against Levin for a friendly match to' be played at Levin next Wednesday?— Gentlemen.—W. Quarrie, T. P.
