SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETS.
The regular meeting of the Shannon School Committee was held last Friday. Messrs Murray, Downes, Watterstoh, Quarrid, Anderson, Birchall and Carlyle were in attendance, Mr ‘ Murray presiding. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. From Thomas Finlay and Son. Ltdg or Auckland, enclosing sample of Golden Rule” school ruler and asking to he favoured with an order for a quail(i t.v >if possible.—Received and decided' to let the matter stand over till the February meeting. PICNIC ARRANGEMENTS, The Secretary reported having made arrangements with Messrs Wilkinson and Hyde for a picture entertainment in aid of. the school picnic fund. The screening will take place in the Maoriland Theatre on February 13. The Committee agreed to the arrangements and auihorised the secretary to procure suitable tickets for the occasion. ( The picnic to Plimmertoii was dealt . with and it was decided the secre- ' (ary communicate with the Railway Department with the object of procuring a' train for'the 26t1) of February.
