The points gained by each club up till iast Saturday are as follows: Y.M.C.A. 8, Shannon Weraroa 5, ami Aluutoa 0. Grainger continues to compile good scores lor Shannon. He put together G2 against Moutoa on Saturday in fine style, and retired unbeaten. Brain, SteAvart, Main and Harris, vf Shannon, are a pretty reliable quartette, and are nearly ahvays among the double-figure scorers. Menvood for once had a duck opposite his name, no is a batsman with a fine, free style, and always callable of making runs. Bishop was the most successful of the Moutoa bowiers with three Avickets to bis credit, whilst Newth and Morgan look two each. Randall is bowling very consistently for Shannon .this season, and on Saturday captured four of the Moutoa wickets. Stewart Avas the next best. { The Levin cricketers have a big handicap to contend with in the condition of the Domain. Being let lor grazing purposes, the ground requires continual work to lender its fit for play, and the traffic of sheep over the pitch soon cuts the surface up. It is only through the work of a few enthusiasts from time to time that 'the ground can be got into playing condition. Sloan ami Pringle, of Weraroa, nut up a good performance in dismissing Y.M.C.A. for 45 runs last Saturday. None of the opposing batsmen managed to reach double figures against them. -No doubt the Weraroa tail caught Y.M.C.A. on the hop, and turned Avhat looked like defeat into a good Avin. Auckram and F. Hudson bore the brunt of the Y.M.C.A. attack, and stuck to tlieir task gamely. F. Fletcher, coining on at a later stage, got some cheap wickets. Horowhenua has so lar only had one rep. match, and another should be about due.
