PATRIOTIC FUNDS HANDED OVER.
The secretary of the Shannon Patriotic Society, has received the following letter from \lr F. P. Walkley, secretary of the County Patriotic Association: “I thank you for yours of the Ist December, enclosing cheque for £l7O 19/4, balance of your Society’s funds. Kindly convey the best thanks of this Association to your Committee for this further addition to the funds, giving proof of thewell rewarded efforts that the Shannon people displayed, with the object of building up the funds for the sick and soldiers and their dependents, of the Horowhenua district.
