LABOUR PARTY MEETING.

A meeting of the Shannon branch of the New Zealand Labour Party was held in the Druids’ lodge room last Friday, when a good attendance of members resulted. . A considerable amount , of business was dealt with, whic hineluded the suggestion that this branch endeavour to get some of the Labour members Of Parliament to visit Shannon and give a public lecdure some time during the New Year. The secretary was authorised to have new tickets printed for issue to its members on payment of the usual fee. The question of making Shannon the headquarters of the Labour Representation C6mmittee came up for discussion, and the secretary was urged to make inquiries of the 1' oxion branch in the matter.
