THE LEVIN SALE.
The sale at Levin on Tuesday was somewhat draggy, and there was not much life in any section. Pigs, which have been maintaining good prices of late, were forward in strong numbers, but the inquiry was not up to that of last week, and prices not so good. Sheep met a dull market and a considerable number of the entries were passed. In the fat cattle section bullocks sold fairly well, and brought up to £7, and fat cows £4 6s to £4 12s. Empty dairy heifers again sold well, and ranged from £2 5s to £5 ss. Pigs—Stores 17s 6d for small to 20s and 255, up to 28s and 30s for good, well-grown animals. Porkers: Light weights 32s to 37s 6d, and heavier to £Z 6s and £2 108.
Sheep.—There were few sales; twotooth ewes and wethers selling from 6s to Bs.
Cattle.—Fat bullocks £7, fat cows £4 6s to £4 12s, forward conditioned cows aos to 30s, vealers 26s to 425, empty dairy heifers £2 5s to £5 ss, springing heifers £4 15s to £5 10s.
