THE MANGAHAO WORKS.
PROCEEDING ACCORDING TO SCHEDULE. POWER MAY BE AVAILABLE EARLIER THAN EXPECTED. Mr E. IE Crabb, of Palmerston, president of the Mangahao HydroElectric Vigilance-- League, was in town last week, after having just visited the works at Mangahao. in conversation with a News representative, Mr Crabb said .the undertaking was proceeding most satisfactorily. From bis knowledge of the progress made, power would certainly be available at the time stated by the engineers, namely, Christmas, 1923. But, said Mr Crabb, he would not he surprised to find that electric energy from Mangahao would be in use considerably before that date, and this gave point to his recent advice to local bodies to push on with their arrangements without delay.
