| SHANNON AND WERAROA DRAW. The. Weraroa team played their fixture with Shannon on the latter’s ground. The home team ha,d first use of the wicket, and compiled 143, six of the batsmen getting into double figures—Merwood 28, Stewart 27, Harris 20, Pope 17, Grainger 16 and Ward 15. Weraroa was left with a pretty big task, and when three wickets had fallen for eight runs their chance of success did not look bright, Pringle O’Connor then became associated, and made a good stand, the scoresheet showing 68 when Pringle was caught, Claridge joined O’Connor, and this pair raised the total to 116 when stumps were drawn, the game thus ending in a draw. Y.M.C.A. BEAT MOUTOA. .The Horowhenua Cricket Association’s fixtures,,commenced on Saturday. The Moutoa team journeyed to Levin and met Y.M.C.A., the latter winning by 108 runs to 75. L. Martin was the principal scorer for the winners, knocking up the fine total of 61 before being caught, Davey (32); T.
