THE MARVELLOUS HOWARDS
On Tuesday night at the Maoriland Picture Theatre the marvellous and mysterious Howards will make their first appearance in fhis town. There is no doubt the audience will be mystified by the extraordinary performance of the Howards, mental ic!epathists, who would undoubtedly have been burnt at the stake as -Wizaids had they lived a few hundred j ears earlier. Mr Janies Howard descends among the audience and asks anyone who pleases to think of or show him ' anything he likes—a coin, letter, or curio of any description. Madame Howard, who stands blindfolded on the stage, describes with the greatest accuracy the object in question. In ,certain turns not a word is exchanged between the two, and one can only shake one’s head bewilderingly and thank Heaven for an easy conscience. It. is a remarkable demonstration of a mysterious nature, and the ability of the lady oil. the stage to tell instantly the articles taken by her assistant fr’om individuals, fills the spectator with • wonder. It really seems as if the performers have'ihe aid of some occult influence.
