BOWLING.
The Manawatu Bowling Centre has decided to continue the “Gala Day” this year. The first will be held on Shannon greens on Wednesday, November 16, commencing at 2 p.m. The following clubs will be represented, and, given fine j weather,, a good afternoon’s enjoyment can be assured: Palmerston North, 2 rinks; Terrace End, 2; Foxton, 2; Manakau, 1; Levin, 1. Shannon hope to supply 6 rinks. Any member of the Shannon Club who will be available will please notify the secretary not later than Monday next, or put bis name on pavilion notice board. The first round of the Triangular Shield will be played in Levin on Levin on Wednesday, 25th inst. The two rinks to represent Shannon Club wifi appear in the paper* on 22nd inst.
Despite the rain which fell on Wednesday morning, the green dried up wonderfully well by the afternoon. The following friendly, matcli was played, a,nd was closely contested: Murray, Clayton, Murphy and Gunning (skip)—2o, y. Hensman, McKegg, Paigher and Roach (skip)—2l.
