N.Z. INDUSTRIES WEEK IN LEVIN.

The several sub-committees ‘ set up by the local retailers to arrange details in connection' with “New Zealand Industries Week in Levin,” have almost completed. the programme for the occasion. It has been decided definitely that the week shall extend over the period 10th to, 17th November, during which time 'every businessplace will be fittingly displaying goods made in INew, Zealand, with special attention to tne requirements of this district. There, is every reason to believe that not only the heads of, firms, but their staffs, are entering 1 thoroughly into the commendable local and national spirit of the movement. ' Gaslight displays are to be made in each shop from 7.30 till 9 o’clock on I Thursday, November 10, and Monday', 1 the 14th. I The Levin Band will provide a ] pleasing programme of music on j Thursday, Saturday and Monday I (10th, 12th and 14th) in the open-air. j A lecture on New Zealand industries is to be given on Friday, the 11th, an effort being put forth to secure the co-operation of. one of , the highest authorities in the Dominion for this feature-. \ I Industrial pictures are also to be shown locally. An essay competition open to school children within the Horowhenua district is being arranged, and a ‘ thoroughly competent judge is to be appointed. ' ' , Overtures have beeny made (to the Defence Department as to the Exhibition of New Zealand war trophies, and it is proposed to invite School Committees throughout the , Horowhenua area, frQm Tokoma.ru to Paekakariki, as well as others interested, to arrange specially for excursion visits. In other districts the exhibition has attracted great attention from the public, and school excursions have been notably successful. “Buy New Zealand goods—in Levin!” is to be the local business slogan, and the public will have the fact impressed upon its collective mind in various ways that it is good business for all concerned to do so.
