LABOUR DAY SPORTS.
Arrangements are now practically ! complete for the sports meeting to be I held on the Park Domain, Levin, on Monday next. Two events that should prove of exceptional interest to the public will he provided by the Fire Brigade. Superintendent* Shaw has donated a gold medal for the winner of the Gilberd Memorial event, and Mr J. C. Milnes has provided trophies for the winners of the Threemen event. Entries have come in well, and there should be keen competition, especially as points will count towards the various cups to be presented for the highest aggregate ‘points gained during the season. The Levin Band will be in attendance, and refreshments, fruit, cordials and confectionery will be obtainable on the ground. The cycle races will be handicapped on the ground.
