DEATH IN TRAIN AT LONGBURN.
r _ A . - ( ELDERLY LADY COLLAPSES. ■ When Monday’s Wellington - New Plymouth express train drew into the Palmerston North station, the body of Mrs Hannah Rogers was removed, and conveyed to the Palmerston North morgue. Mrs Rogers, a lady , of 84 years, was being accompanied on the. /journey to her hofne in New Plymouth by her son. When the late Mrs Rogers boarded the express tat- Thorndon station she'appeared to be in her Usual state of health, but on reaching the Shannon district she became unwell. !in fact so ill that Palmerston North was communicated with from the Tokomaru Station, in order to have medical aid ready immediately the train a rrived. It was not long before Mrs Rogers totally collapsed,| and she" expired just before Longbum was reached. Mr Rogers, the, son, who is himself an elderly man, was much distressed. ;During the past two years Mrs Rogers had not been medically attended, but had previously beeh examined for an affection of the heart.
