JOHNSONVILLE FAT STOCK SALE.
The auctioneers report: We yarded 64 head of cattle and 650 sheep _ at Johnsonvllle yesterday, the quality of cattle as a whole being particularly goou, but owing to a further reduction by the wholesale companies of 5s per hundred p'ounds, beef showed a corresponding reduction. There was a good yarding of sheep, including some very heavy wethers, but as the wholesale prices of mutton had also been reduced, sheep also were easier. The shorn sheep were light, but sell very well, and we quote: —
Cattle. —Best bullocks, £l3 10s to £l3 12s 6d; medium bullocks, £9 15s, £lO, £lO 2s 6d, £lO ss; plain bullocks, £9 to £9 10s; best cows, £9 10s; medium cows, £6, £6 30s, £6 17s 6d, to £7 ss. Woolly Sheep—Best wethers, 21s Id, 21s 6d, to 21s 9cl; medium wethers, 18s 2d. 18s 9d, to 19s 6(1; light wethers, 16s 7d; best ewes, 17s 9d to 189; light ewes, 14s 7tl, 15s 6cl to 16s; lambs, 10s Bd. Shorn Sheep.—Wethers, 18s 4d; ewes, 16s.
